 So far so good. Slept well last night. Felt less anxious today. Not craving sweets.

so im off today. The only reason is because there are 2 women i work with who are highly motivated by

 Their monthly car payments to pull this outrageous amount of overtime! Complete slaves to their vehicles. All covid19 co-workers are still out. The state changed the mandated time off from 5 days to 7 days. So the thing is .. I have been feeling everything I felt when I came down with covid19 in 2020... The horrible fatigue, the strange relentless headache, no appetite. I've just been dragging myself through the days. All unboosted employees still being tested twice a week. I've been tested 3 times a week and the results are always negative. However the rapid tests seem to be defective somehow or they just don't pick up the new strain as quickly because several nurses and CNA have not tested positive until the 6th or 7th time. All the while stating they aren't feeling well and having to work anyway and no one is keeping those N95 masks on all day.. I mean it's just a joke. Anyway.. So I had to stop feeding the stray, Hobo Grey because the Princess just doesn't like him. I can't force her to like him. It's been months and her attitude has not changed. So he tried to come into the house the other day and she viciously attacked him , I had a glass of water in my hand and had to use it. Didn't feel like taking cats to the vet because her nails were just clipped and his are these long , lethal claws and he was fighting back .. Good grief, everything is just so depressing. The cats at work all have tapeworm. . my internet has been down more than not, just from rain. that's all it takes. A rainy day and boom , no internet. And it's been raining for weeks at a time. I don't have a television.  Wow so 1st world problema s. 

 

The only thing I care about anymore is my cat(s).

Kind of looking forward to the sister reunion this Sept. We haven't had one since 2019.  Meanwhile we have 3 employees from the kitchen  out sick with the covid. Double boosted , no less. I never got booster one. Those vaccinations one and two after I already had covid19 and was on the mend, really messed me up. I firmly believe this to be true. I know my body better than anyone.

Still cold here. 21°F right now. Will warm up to around 40° by this afternoon. Wow. I am cold all the time. My Last electric bill was $165 ..Electric heat, never use the fireplace, too smoky.

So I was going to get up and go shopping for another battery operated lamp but this chilly weather is definitely putting a damper on my, re decorate the living room, enthusiasm!

And wow, what about this will smith , Chris rock thing?! I was searching YouTube for red carpet vids just to see what everyone was wearing and all that popped up. . what on earth? !

11 years sober this month. And instead of rehashing all the negative things that happened this March... I shall say naught..

 Haha. Just kidding. Took a week off of work, going back on Saturday. Had to have my blood pressure meds refilled so Doctor insisted on me having blood work done.  Liver enzymes over the top high. She wants me to go to the liver specialist (the same guy who did my ulcer repair, 11 years ago.) I said, give me three months. I'll go back on the no added sugar, diet, which I was doing so well on before the pandemic hit. personally I think it is a combination of poor diet and over the counter Tylenol and Excedrin and so forth. I've been taking A lot of that stuff for the arthritis and leg pain.  ....  So what have I been doing with my free time? Nothing. Went and had a tooth pulled. Made a batch of corned beef and cabbage which turned out great except the veggies were over cooked. Somewhat caught up on housework and laundry. Watching self help vids on how to plow through depression minus meds. Watched a Swedish movie called, "Border". https://www.imdb.com/title/tt5501104/    I think it's by the same guy who wrote " let the right on in" - my favorite vampire movie.

Probably won't be seeing my granddaughters this summer because her parents are angry at me for calling out the daughter in law (during their last visit which was cut short due the call out)  because she has been giving the girls sleeping pills..  For years. She is addicted to over the counter sleeping pills and she told me years ago that her mother was addicted to them. So it's a generational deal. Never really cared for her all that much but my son is madly in love with her so I tried to get along with her, especially since I usually only get to see them once a year. 

It's a dark and rainy day. Princess Stumperina Pumpkin is napping in the big chair. We are in the living room - listening to ambient - Data Rebel. It's almost 1pm and I haven't brushed my teeth yet. Have the kettle on for a cup of tea. A spot of tea. Maybe I'll watch A couple of episodes of "Doc Martin" later. I was watching "Pam and Tommy" on hulu. There were only 8 episodes. I was entertained. The actor who played the guy that actually stole the sex tape did a super job 😂 that was the best character. 

Back. (Remember in the chats when you typed, BRB and on return everyone typed, WB! 😊 just typing that is making me tear up.

 So I made tea and took two sinus pills. See there, not at work and still taking pills. It's a daily thing.  

Besides the fall out with daughter in law, I am furious that unlike other people, my liver has not recovered. It has remained fatty. Like, what was the point? I suppose the point was that I didn't want to die an undignified death in the streets. . Wanted to be a good role model for the girls. prove to them and my kids and myself that a life can be lived without mood altering drugs. Be mindful of what you put into your body as it is your temple. . so much more comfortable with the quick fix .. Head stuffed up, take a pill. I don't want to experience any physical discomfort. I guess that makes me weak. 

Should probably take the princess to have her nails clipped and teeth cleaned. .Ole Mr Hobo Grey still comes around occasionally, I feed him the canned food that Stumperina doesn't care or is sick of. He never hangs around for long. The gray tabby dumpster cat at work, the one with the mangled hind leg , that I called the animal humane society for, had his leg amputated and is now in a "forever home".The other cats were neutered and one female (the black one that was always hateful, she probably had many health issues) did not wake after her spay. So we are back to 3 cats at the dumpster, I will take pics one evening.

I work hard for my vacation days. Drinking coffee , eating a tomato sandwich and watching a movie on Amazon called, " The Wave".. Nice reminder about how quickly things go downhill after that first drink 😂  oh .. I do have some good news to share.. My blood pressure was down for the first time in years. I credit that to the cat.

Got a ride to and from work from dear old dad, today..

 and even in a 4wd we had to drive through a field to get off the property. My uncle was "scraping" the dirt road, which is more like a flattening of the snow because no one wants their expensive gravel removed. Well the good news is dad finally agreed to sell me his old truck. Not sure when this will happen.. 

Animal League came and set up a trap by the dumpster. The woman I have been communicating with said she spotted the wounded cat. I haven't seen it in awhile and my co workers reported that it hasn't been seen in 4 days. If they are able to trap it I will donate some money to the cause. I really need to get some pictures..

 

Best thing i bought in 2021:

Yup. Toilet seat cover. Amen. Just killin some time. Internet is at a crawl, second snow storm of winter is happening this moment. Very icey. Have to work tomorrow but probably won't be able to get out of here. They already cancelled the Monday covid19 testing. Just saw somewhere that Sweden is going to micro chip people - the covid19 vaccine passport. Why can't they just have app on phone? 

Oh, almost forgot - I contacted the county animal league regarding the dumpster cat with broken twisted up hind leg. Too make a long story short she said she had to find out if she had to ask for permission to be on nursing home property before she could do anything this was after she asked me if I could trap it....
 Also, why is it so complicated to search for other blogs on here? We used to all be connected. 😐

Waiting for the freezing rain to start - internet might go down..

Sitting in the living room drinking coffee and watching Stumperina play soccer.  She just found a "fun size" kit-kat bar under the fridge. Yesterday she brought my attention to some dry cat food that was spilled behind a piece of furniture. No clue in the world as to why or how THAT got THERE! 🤔  

I had planned to snap a new selfie with Princess Stumperina Pumpkin.  You know, while we had good snow,,was going for a mood pic representing the winter of my life. Haha. But the princess hates the snow and today the rain will ruin it. 

Guess I should decide if I want to use commas, or not. This blog space is turning into A diary. I can't decide if I should swap out my profile pic to a recent one. The original one is 20 years old. I remember the night I took it. New Years Eve. Waiting for my son and his wife (gf at the time) to come over, they were late ,as a matter of fact, they stood me up and I was so pissed! That was also the start of the MySpace years. And the sweater I am wearing was 20 years old. A, button -down- the -back ,angora piece that I was wearing backwards.  You know.. When I go back to work I'll be too tired to write in here. So I will leave all as is. 

BLISS: don't have to be back to work till tues.... Well, actually monday , for covid test..

 Went to the doctor yesterday for on going back pain that my, stand-on-your-feet-all-day job, is not helping. Anyway I had my appointment in their carport. . because the county is in OUTBREAK status. then went to pick up my prescriptions at the walmart pharmacy In va, where I had to wait forever because half of their staff was out with covid19 and so they were way very behind. Then I had to drive back to wv to my work to be covid19 tested because we are in OUTBREAK status since the 5th. So even if you have been vaccinated and boosted you are required to come in twice A week for mandatory testing. All the running around was worth it, though. . I have a weak muscle relaxer and a strong arthritis pill. Snowed in again. Stumperina loves ambient... Loves me being home. Had long conversation with Germany sister yesterday. We haven't had a full sister reunion because of covid19, in 2 years! She said that in her city you cannot go anywhere without your vaccine passport which is on your phone and now you must be tested before going to a restaurant and certain other places. They were just starting to take the free testing stations down but now they are going back up. The people who weren't vaccinated had to pay to be tested, now, it is free for everyone, again. I thought that last bit was interesting. I have diarrhea of the mouth but am going to go lay down. It gets uncomfortable sitting.  Snowed in again, did I already say that

 Sad face. Too cold to go out and hunt. She brings me dead mice all the time. The other day I watched her stalk a demon gerbil (chipmunk) - it's amazing how long she can sit still as a statue. That takes so much self control. 

At work we have the dumpster cat gang - 5 , sometimes 6 adults and 2 kittens which I haven't seen in awhile. I work in the kitchen , so of course when I take out the trash, I feed them. We've never had this many cats. All but one are feral. 

Heartburn from the coffee. Tomorrow it's back to work. Hope I can drive out of here. Electricity was out for 3 hours, yesterday. Then I had to hike up to the satellite dish and do some snow removal. It's alright being snowed in as long as I have heat and internet 😂.  A guy I work with just got Elon Musk's (billionaire we love to hate) , Starlink only to find out there isn't even a star link satellite around here. Paid $500 and  then it's $99 per month but can't use it yet..... He said that the dish part will melt snow and ice on its own, and the router is really "cool" looking,  so I should get it. Lol, no thanks.

 Still driving the 1999 vehicle I bought for 1K in 2012.  No awd. Not even 2wd. 5 miles to the nearest state maintained road and it's a one lane. Can't get off the property. Either there is a 12 foot snow drift, a thick block of ice on ice hill , or a fallen tree blocking the road. ..  Need an  AWD.  Wish I had a friend who knew how to buy a car. Wish I had a friend, period. Nah. That takes too much energy and time. So, 10 years sober, and I am frozen when it comes to buying a vehicle and moving to a beach.

So I guess I am a hypocrite. Hating on people addicted to spilling their guts on face hook (almost said,  slipping.) but find myself doing it, on here.  I have nothing but I have everything.  The check mark in the cloud, icon.  The new rattling (love) in the songs. We all build our own cages. I don't remember when I first heard that. Sure is true, though. I can stay sober but I can't break out of my cage.  Has this "life style change" been worth it? For the most part, I would have to say, yes! But it's lonely. In fact I didn't even realize how much so, until the cat came along.  Wow. What an eye opener - 

The page is white as snow. Stumperina hates the snow. Hates the cold. Sometimes I think she is my old friend, mellie (RIP), reincarnated.  

So, I didn't get the "booster".
